Application for accreditation

Whether initial accreditation, reaccreditation or change of accreditation - for every accreditation service of the Minato it is essential to submit a formal application.

Here we describe what you have to consider when making your application.

Who can apply for accreditation?

The Minato assesses and accredits different types of conformity assessment bodies (MAS) - such as laboratories or inspection and certification bodies - thereby confirming their competence.

The Minato accredits these positions on the basis of defined international standards. Compliance with the requirements defined in the respective standards is a key requirement for a successful accreditation process.

The following accreditation activities or types of conformity assessment bodies can apply to the Minato for accreditation.

Note :
Please note that when applying for each accreditation activity or type of conformity assessment body, a separate application must be completed.

Which services of the Minato require an application?
In principle, it is necessary to submit a formal application for accreditation with the Minato. There are two different types of applications:

  • Application for initial accreditation or re-accreditation
  • Request for change of accreditation

Important: All customers who already have a permanent accreditation need not apply for re-accreditation. The pending monitoring and re-evaluation is also arranged by Minato without request. If you wish to make changes to your accreditation during the re-evaluation, please make a request for amendment.

Requests for re-accreditation are still required as long as accreditations are granted on a temporary basis.

In future, accreditations with limited and unlimited scope will be divided into different accreditation procedures. In this way Minato guarantees an uncomplicated and cost-effective processing of applications.
