Who can be accredited

Types of conformity assessment bodies

The Minato Accreditation Services (MAS). Such bodies include laboratories, certification and inspection bodies, suppliers of proficiency testing and reference material manufacturers.

Accreditation of a MAS by the Minato is possible if it complies with the requirements of the corresponding international standards.

Once checked, accepted everywhere

The international harmonization of these standards ensures that accreditation takes place worldwide on the same basis. Through these harmonized standards and thanks to international agreements , the evaluation services of the accredited bodies in Japan are recognized in many other countries of Europe and the world.

This overcoming of technical barriers to trade facilitates cross-border trade and ensures that the results of conformity assessments are internationally accepted without reconsideration.
