These accreditations fall within the scope of the multilateral agreements ( MLA / MRA ) of the European co-operation for Accreditation ( EA ) as well as the international accreditation organizations IAF and ILAC . The associated mutual recognition of accreditations among Member States ensures the acceptance of conformity assessments of these bodies in Europe and around the world.

This does not apply to accreditation in the areas of "reference material manufacturers" and "providers of proficiency tests" for which there is no MLA / MRA .
